असा आहे अभ्यंगाचा आयुर्वेदोक्त आधार !!

 दिवाळी म्हंटले कि अभ्यंगस्नान आलेच ..

तर यामागे नक्की कोणता शास्त्रोक्त आधार आहे का ? आणि अभ्यंग का करावा ?आणि कोणी करू नये असे काही आहे का ? असे बरेच प्रश्न कधी कधी वैचारिकांच्या मनात येऊन जातात ..कोणाला त्याची उत्तर भेटतात तर कोणी विचार तसेच सोडून देतो.. 

                          

अभ्यंग हा आयुर्वेदामध्ये वर्णन केलेला दिनचर्येचा एक भाग आहे. याचा उल्लेख आचार्य वाग्भटांनी दिनचर्या वर्णन करताना केला आहे.

      अभ्यंगम आचरेत नित्यं स जरा श्रम वातहा |

      दृष्टी प्रसाद पुष्ट्यायुस्वप्नसुक्त्व दार्ढ्यकृत || (अ.ह्र.सु.२)

दररोज शरीराला तेल लावून अभ्यंग करावा. त्यामुळे जरा ( वार्धक्य ), श्रम , वात यांचा नाश करतो. दृष्टी शुद्ध करते, पुष्टी देतो, आयुष्य वाढवितो , निद्रा देतो , त्वचा सुकुमार करितो  व शरीर दृढ करतो.


    🎇 अभ्यंग कोणी करू नये ?

     वर्ज्योअभ्यंग कफग्रस्त संशुद्धयाजिर्णीभि: | (अ.ह्र.सु.२)

  - ज्यांना कफविकार झाले आहेत.

  - ज्यांनी वमन / विरेचन घेतले आहे.

  - ज्यांना अजीर्ण झाले आहे.

THIS IS WHAT AACHARYA SUSHRUTA DESCRIBES ABOUT - ACTIVITIES TO BE AVOIDED IN PREGNANCY ?

As Confirmation of  Pregnancy gives a joy and happiness to a couple. Every couple is conscious about what activities a pregnant woman should do and what she should not ?

                                      


In  Ayurveda ,Aacharya sushruta describes regarding these things  that should not be done after confirmation of pregnancy --

           तदा प्रभृती व्यवाय व्यायाममतर्पण मातिकर्षण दिवास्वप्न रात्रीजागरण  शोक यानारोहण  भयमुत्कटासन                 चैवान्तत: स्नेहादि क्रियां शोणितमोक्षणम चाकाले वेगविधारण च न सेवेत || 
                                                                                                         ( सु.शा.३/१३ )


👉 Vyavaya (Coitus)
👉Vyayama ( exercise)
👉Aaptarpan (Fasting) 
👉Atikarshan ( work leading to weakness of body)
👉Diwaswapn ( afternoon nap) 
👉Ratrijagrana ( awkening till late nights) 
👉Shok ( being unhappy)
👉Yanarohana (Travelling)
👉Bhaya ( Fear) 
👉Utkatasana ( seating and sleeping in difficult postures)

The Panchkarmadi kriya that should be avoided - 

👉Snehan
👉Swedan
👉Shonitmokshan (Blood letting)
👉Vegvidharan 

Why these Activities should be avoided ?


👉 Vyavaya (Coitus) during pregnancy can harm the  Fetus.
👉 Vyayama (Exercise) without guidance of any health professional should be avoided as it can change the positions of your baby.
👉 Apatarpan and apkarshan kriya's leads to weakness causing difficulty in growth of the baby.
👉 Divaswapna leads to diseases caused due to kapha dosha.
👉 Ratrijagrana leads to unhealthy state of body.
👉 Shok leads to abnormal state of vayu.
👉 Yanarohan (Travelling) leads to jerky movements of body.
👉 During shonit mokshana - due to fear , there is a risk of heavy blood loss.

आजकाल बयाच मुली , स्त्रिया यांच्याकडून "मला पण PCOS / PCOD आहे असे वाक्य अगदी सर्रास आणि सहजतेने उच्चरलेले ऐकायला मिळते.तर नक्की  PCOS / PCOD म्हणजे काय ? यामध्ये कोणती लक्षणे दिसून येतात ?

PCOS / PCOD हा आजकाल आढळून येणारा एक स्त्रियांचा प्रजनन संस्थेशी संबंधित आजार आहे.

शाळेत- कॉलेज ला  जाण्याऱ्या मुली याना - 

- अनियमित पाळी 

- पाळी दरम्यान पूर्वीपेक्षा अधिक त्रास होणे .

USES -

🌱Garbhashay sankochak. - ( Causes Uterine contractions)

   So used in sakashta prasuti (difficult labour).

   After delivery , used with pimpalmoola for Garbhashaya shodhan ( cleansing action of uterus) .

Used in -

   🌱Anartava (Amenorrhea).

  🌱 Kashtartava (Dysmenorrhoea)

  🌱Sutika jwara (Puerperal pyrexia).

1.Vajikaran (Aphrodisiacs)

   So used in Klebya.

2.Garbhashay sankochak (causes Uterine contractions) -

   So used in Anartava (Amenorrhea).

DO YOU KNOW HOW YOUR FOOD AFFECTS MENSTRUATION ?

 

     As now a days , many of the women and young girls have habit of  eating junk food , bakery products , more dairy products , preserved foods , fast-foods ,food items containing maida (all purpose flour).

At start it doesnot show any effect on your body , further with its more intake , it results in Weight gain , menstrual abnormalities like Amenorrhea, Oligomenorrhoea, Irregular menstruation, PCOD ,etc..

As everyone knows the importance of  food intake for keeping their body in healthy state.

 As per Ayurveda , your food intake , food habits leads to the normal or abnormal state of  Tridosha saptdhatu's.

As we are discussing about menstruation - lets see how your food habits and diet affects menstruation.?                                      

                                          


For a Normal and healthy menstruation needs normal formation of Aartava (menstrual blood).

As in Ayurveda, formation of Aartava is formed from the aahar-rasa.

              रसात स्तन्य ततो रक्तम : |( च.चि १५/१७) 

 Aacharya Charaka describes formation of aartava(rakta) and stanya from the rasa.

This rasa is nothing other than aahar-rasa and the rasa dhatu responsible for the formation of  aartava.

Healthy food intake leads to formation of  aahar rasa in normal state leading to formation of Healthy  dhatus which combinely leads to Rasa dhatu formation in its healthiest state which further forms  Aartava ( menstrual blood).

so, While explaining the importance of healthy diet we can say that -  "Healthy Food - Healthy Menstruation - Healthy Body !!" 


CHAVYA - USES IN OBSTETRICS

 It is known as Chavak in Marathi , Chaba/ Chabha in Hindi & Chavya in Sanskrit.

Latin Name - Piper officinarum / piper cheba

Family - Piperaceae

                                      

Properties -

Rasa - Katu , Tikta

Virya - Ushna

Vipaka - Katu

Guna - Laghu , ruksha , tikshna

Chemical Constituents - Piperin , starch

Parts Used - fruit


USES -

  1. Avipravartana ( stimulates / increases uterine contractions)

            It causes uterine contractions & helps for excretion of placenta.

  1. Garbhashay Shodhan ( cleansing action of uterus) - so used in Makkalshoola & In Sutika jwara , it is used with pippali & jaggery.

It is known as Gunj in Marathi & Gunja in Sanskrit.

Latin Name - Abrus precatorius 

Family - Leguminosae

Properties -

Rasa - Tikta, katu,kashaya

Virya - Ushna

Vipaka - Katu

Guna - Laghu, ruksha,tikshna

Chemical Constituents - Abrin , Abarnin 

Parts Used - Seeds , leaves , root 

USES -

1.Garbh Nirodhak ( acts as contraceptive).

  In rutukala -beejchurna is used twice a day.

2. Garbhashayottejak (stimulates uterine contractions) 

    Roots are used for this.
