ASHWATH - USES IN GYNAECOLOGY

It is known as pimpal in Marathi & Ashwath in Sanskrit.

Latin Name - Ficus religiosa

Family - Moraceae

                                 

Properties -

Rasa - Kashya ,Madhur 

Virya - Sheeta

Vipaka - Katu

Guna - guru , ruksha

Chemical Constituents -

Tanin 4%

Parts Used - Twak , phala , shrug (leafbud),kshir (milk)

                                          

USES -

  1. Skin of roots - Garbha sthapana ( helps to conceive)

  2. Stem skin , churna of fruit - vajikarana ( Aphrodisiac).

BIJPURAK - USES IN GYNAECOLOGY

 It is known as Mahalung in Marathi & Bijpurak in Sanskrit.

BOL - USES IN GYNAECOLOGY

It is known as hirabol / tambadabol in Marathi & Bol in Sanskrit.

Latin Name - Commiphora myrrh

Family - Burseraceae

                                     

Properties -

Rasa - Tikta , Katu,Kashaya

Virya - Ushna

Vipaka - Katu

Guna - Laghu , Ruksha

Chemical Constituents - Myrrhol,Myrrhin

USES -

1.Aartavajanana ( stimulates /increases formation of menstrual blood)

So used in Anartava ( Amenorrhoea) & Kashatrtava ( Dysmenorrhoea).

1.Niryas - Vrushya ( Aphrodisiac)

1.Shukrastambhan -

👉 Withdrawal of endorphins (neurotransmitters) from CNS

VACHA - USE IN OBSTETRICS

1.Garbhashaya sankochak - ( causes uterine contractions)

USHIRA - USES IN OBGY

It is known as Vala in Marathi ,Valo in Hindi , Ushir in Sanskrit & Khashkhash grass in English.

Latin Name - Vetiveria zizaniodis

Family - Gramineae

                                        

Properties -

Rasa - Tikta , Madhur

Virya - Sheeta

Vipaka - Katu

Guna - Laghu, Ruksha

Chemical Constituents - Volatile oil , Fe 

Parts Used - Roots 

USES -

🌱Stanyashodhan & Stanyavardhan -

   As ushir is jalabhuyishta so works as Stanyavardhan ( stimulates / increases formation of breast milk).

  Due to Sheeta virya , it relieves pitta dushti working as stanyashodhan ( purifing action of breast milk).

  Diseases like daha ( burning sensation) , jwara ( fever) ,Atisara ( diarrhoea) trishna , swedaatipravartan in children caused  due to pittadushta stanya can be relived.

🌱 Mutral ( stimulates/increases formation of urine) - specifically used in Pittaj mutrakriccha ( difficulty in micturition).

   Hima / fant of ushira used with sugar.

   Ushir churna is used with tandulodaka (rice water) & sugar .

🌱 Mutrakriccha - ushira + ekshu roots + darbha roots + raktachandan kwatha is used.

So due to all of these properties above dravyas possess , dhoopana with them works as a protection from the seasonal diseases for your loved one's.

When should you do Dhoopana ?

Dhoopana can be done in morning or evening.

2.As it works as Balya ( provides strength) so it is used in Sutika women ( postpartum state).

3. Mutral ( stimulates or increases formation of urine)

    So used in Mutrakriccha ( Difficulty in Micturition).
