Gynecological Benefits of Kesar



Kesar is mostly identified with its different names like Kumkum, Saffron, & having  latin name as Crocus sativus.

Family - Iridaceae

Properties - 

Rasa -    Katu, tikta

Virya -   Ushna

Vipaka - Katu

Guna - Snigdha

Chemical Composition - Volatile oil,crocin , P , K

it mainly works on Garbhashaya (Uterus) & Shukra Dhatu.

it also  has Vajikaran property (Aphrodisiac)

it works as Garbhashaya sankochak ( Ecbolic) so can be used to treat Kashtartva (dysmenorrhoea).

it can also be used in obstruction in menstrual blood to flow & also after a difficult labour due to its GarbhaShaya Shodhana property.
