SHIRISH - USES IN GYNAECOLOGY

It is known as Shirish in Marathi & Sanskrit , siris in Hindi .

It is of two types - 1) Shwet 2) Krushna

Latin Name - Albizia lebbeck

Family - Leguminoseae

                                    

Properties -

Rasa - Kashaya, Tikta, Madhur

Virya - Alpa Ushna

Vipaka - Katu

Guna - Laghu ,Ruksha ,Tikshna

Prabhav - Vishaghna

Chemical Constituents - Tannin , saponin

Parts Used - Twak ,Beej , Patra, Pushpa 

USES -

🌱.Due to Madhur anurasa & Vrushya guna - Beej churna ( powder of seeds) is used with cow milk in Shukradarbalya.

🌱.Due to Kashayarasa , Pushpa is used for Shukra Stambhan.

🌱.Twak swarasa with cow ghee in same quantity is used in Shweta Pradara ( leucorrhoea).
