THE LOVELY LOTUS - USES IN OBGY

 Lotus is one of the most beautiful flowers.,known with different names like kamal in Marathi, hindi & Nelumbo Nucifer as its Latin name.

It is the Indian Lotus.

Properties - 

rasa - Kashay ,madhur,tikta 

Virya - Sheeta 

Vipaka - Madhur 

Guna - Guru , Picchil 

Chemical Constituents -

Protein , Starch

Medicinal property - 

Prajasthapan 

USES -

As it works as prajasthapan - it is used for the Garbhaposhana ( nurishment of the foetus ).

Kamal keshar is also used with butter to prevent discharge in pregnant women.

KUMUD 

It is also the another type of lotus 

It is the blue lotus.
