Family - Liliaceae
Properties -
Rasa - Madhur , Tikta
Virya - Sheeta
Vipaka - Madhur
Guna - Guru , Snigdha , Mrudu
Chemical Constituents - Saponin , Sitesterol
USES -
1) Stanyajanana -
๐Due to Snigdha guna leads to Bruhana of Rasadi dhatu & Due to Tikta rasa rasagnideepan karma occurs results in stanyaposhana ( as stanya is updhatu of rasa) & thus- Stanyajanana karma (stimulates or increases formation of breast milk).
so , Shatavari kalpa or Shatavari siddha milk is used for Stanyajanana karma.
2) Aartavvaha Strotas -
๐ Due to use of Shatavari , Garbhashya ( Uterus) gets nourishment & Uterine muscles & blood vesseles gets nourished.
๐As uterine blood vessels gets nourished & gets strength so used in raktapradara (abnormal uterine bleeding).
๐ It also works as Streebeejkara.
3) Shukravaha Strotas -
๐ Due to Shukra samanya , It works as Shukra Vruddhikara ( stimulates/ increases formation of Sperms).
- Due to its use , the dhatus required for shukra formation & shukra ( sperms) gets nourished leading to gain in Body strength of the person.
๐ Shatavari kalka siddha ghee is used with sugar + pippali + honey as Vajikarana yoga (Aphrodiasic).
