It is the Holy plant having traditional values.

It is known as Tulas in Marathi & Tulsi in Hindi & Sanskrit.

Latin Name - Ocimum sanctum

Family - Labiatae

                          

Properties -

Rasa - Katu ,Tikta

Virya - Ushna

Vipaka - Katu

Guna -  Laghu , Snigdha , Tikshna 

BEEJ -

Virya - Sheeta

Vipaka - Madhur

Guna - Snigdha , Picchil

Chemical Constituents -

Volatile oil , carratin  

USES -

1.Beej -

  -  It works as Shukral so used in Shukravruddhi (stimulates / increases formation of sperms).  

  -  It works as Mutral ( Diauretics) so used in Mutrakriccha ( difficulty in micturition).
