As now a days , Ashwagandha is famous for its use in covid 19. 

let's know how it works ? 

Latin Name - Withania somnifera

Family - Solanaceae 

                                        

Properties -

Rasa - Madhur,Tikta,Kashaya

Virya - Ushna

Vipaka - Madhur

Guna - Laghu ,Snigdha

Chemical Constituents -

 Tropin , Anaferin

USES -

 1.Pranvaha strotas -

 Due to Tikta kashaya rasa & Ushna guna - it works as -

👉 Kaphaghna  ( removes phlegm) 

👉 Shwashara (anti -asthamatics) 

As in covid 19 , we see symptoms like - fever, cough, cold, breathlessness so kaphaghna property of ashwagandha helps to removes phlegm and shwashara property helps in curing breathlessness.

2.Rasayan Karma - 

👉 works as Balya ( gives strength to body) , Bruhana & Rasayan .

👉 Due to tikta rasa - it works as Dhatvagideepan 

 So, Dhatuagnideepan & Dhatuposhana both achieved .

In covid 19 , as everyone wants to boost Immunity , as ashwagandha does dhatuaagnideepan and also dhatuposhana leading to give strength to body (working as balya) leading to increased Immunity.
