Ayurveda explains - Why a woman in post-partum stage should practice Abhyanga ?

    

      Giving birth to a new life is the rebirth of a woman. it transforms her from a woman to a mother. This period is very precious and sensitive for her ,so she should follow some ayurvedic regimen in this period to maintain her health. Abhyanga is one of those ayurvedic regimens that must be followed by a woman after giving birth.

                                    


     The period after delivery is known as Post-partum period / Post natal period & as per Ayurveda-Sutika kaal.

    As per Ayurveda , a woman in her post-partum period is known as sutika.

   Abhyanga means massaging your body with ayurvedic oils. 

 

                                  

- In sutika avastha -

-  During the delivery , there is increased state of vata dosha which remains increased after delivery too.

-  A woman feels lethargic physically and mentally after delivery.

Benefits of  Abhyanga in the post partum period -

๐Ÿ‘‰  As suitika has gone through tremendous pain ,abhyanga relives the pain developed due to delivery.

๐Ÿ‘‰It helps for vatashamana.

๐Ÿ‘‰Oil provides nourishment  preventing skin from getting dry & also prevents further  dehydration in sutika.

๐Ÿ‘‰It tones up the muscles of abdomen ,pelvic floor & back & also relives muscle spasm.

๐Ÿ‘‰Improves digetion.

๐Ÿ‘‰Responsible for improved venous blood flow preventing thrombosis.

๐Ÿ‘‰Sooths endocrine & nervous system releasing endorphin which improves mental as well as physical well being.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Body massage should be done for minimum of 25- 30 mins  followed by  warm water bath after 1-1.5 hours.
