 it has other names like Udid  in Marathi , Urdad in Hindi , Mash in Sanskrit ,Black gram in English  &

 Phaseolus mungo as a Latin name.

Family - Leguminosae.                         

Properties -

Rasa - Madhur

Virya - Ushna

Vipaka - Madhur

Guna - Guru , Snigdha

Medicinal Properties -

1. Vrushya (Aphrodisiac)

2. Stanyajanana  ( Formation of Breast milk)

3. Aartavjanana ( Formation of Menstrual Blood)

USES -

1. Rajorodh ( obstruction in flow of menstrual blood)

2. Stanyavikara ( Diseases of breast milk)

3. Klebya
