BLACK PEPAR - USES IN GYNAECOLOGY

 Maricha is one of the  spices

it has other names like  Mire in Marathi , Kali Mirch  in Hindi , Black pepar in English & Marich in Sanskrit & Piper nigrum as a latin name.

Family - Piperaceae.

                                    

Properties -

Rasa - Katu

Virya - Ushna 

Vipaka - Katu 

Guna - Laghu , Tikshna

Chemical Composition -

volatile oil , Piperine , Piperidin

Action on Strotasa -

1. Shukrartavaha Strotasa -

         Shukrartav-vaha  Strotasa uttejak so used as Uttejaka

         Aartavajanana ( Formation of  menstrual blood )

2.Mutravaha Strotasa - 

         Due to Tikshna guna , functioning of  kidneys gets stimulated & that leads to increase in quantity of urine, so it is used in Mutrakriccha ( Difficuilty in Mituration).
