It is known with its other names as Dalchini in Marathi & Hindi , Tvak in Sanskrit & Cinnamon in English & Cinnamomum Zeylanicum as a latin name.

Properties -
Rasa - Katu , Madhur
Virya - Ushna
Vipaka - Madhur
Guna - Laghu , Ushna , Tikshna
Chemical Composition -
Eugenol, Cinnamaldehyde
Medicinal Properties -
1. Garbhashaya Sankochak ( Ecbolic / stimulates uterine contractions)
2. Vajikaran ( Aphrodisiac)
3. Mutrajanana ( stimulates / increases formation of urine)
4. Jantughna ( Wormisidal)
USES -
1. As it is Garbhashaya sankochak , it can be used in -
- Aanartava ( Amenorrhoea )
- Alpartava ( Hypomenorrhoea / oligomenorrhoea)
- Kashtartava ( Dysmenorrhoea)
- Removes Garbhashaya Shaithilya
2. Due to madhur rasa , it leads to Shukra vrudhi ( increase in sperm count) .
3. Due to Ushna & Tikshna guna , it stimulates kidneys causing Mutrajanana , so , it can be used in Mutrakriccha ( Difficulty in Mituration).
4.Due to Tikshna guna , it works as Jantughna so can be used in puymeha .
