DHATAKI - USES IN GYNAECOLOGY

Dhatki pushpa is mainly used in the preparation of many ayurvdic formulations.

It is known as Dhayati in Marathi , Dhaei in Hindi , Dhatki in Sanskrit & Fire flame bush in English.

Latin Name - Woodfordia fruticosa

Family - Lytheraceae                                   

Properties -

Rasa - Kashay , Katu

Virya - Sheeta

Vipaka - Katu

Guna - Ruksha,Laghu

Chemical Constituents -

 Tanin , glucose, b-sitesterol ,galic acids

                                        

USES -

👉Due to Kashaya rasa , all the moisture & abnormal kapha gets decreased  and thus leads to healing of the injuries at yoni (cervix) & also it relives Garbhashaya shaithilya .

👉 so , it is used in 

      - Raktapradara ( Abnormal Uterine Bleeding)

      - Shwetapradara ( Leucorrhoea)

      - Pradar ( Abnormal vaginal discharges)

👉 Kwatha of dhayati pushpa should be given on Pradara.
