Amla is famous for its use as Vayasthapaka.it is known as avala in Marathi , Amla in Hindi ,Amalaki in sanskrit & Indian gooseberry in English.

USES -
๐ Due to Madhur vipaka & prabhava, it works as Shukravardhana ( stimulates/ increases formation of sperms) so used as Vrushya ( Aphrodiasic).
๐ It works as Prajasthapak by reliving Garbhashaydaurbalya ( weakness of uterine muscles).
๐ Pradara ( abnormal uterine bleeding) -
- As amlaki is ruksha & of kashya rasa so helps in cleansing of kleda & puya.
- It relives Garbhashayashaithilya & gives strength to uterine muscles.
- In Shwetapradara due to garbhashaymukha dushta vrana (cervical erosions) , amlaki qwatha is used for Uttarbasti & can also be used for internal use.
๐ Amalaki swarasa is used with -
1. khadisakhar ( rock sugar) -
a) Yonidaha ( Burning sensation at yoni)
b) Raktaj Yoniroga ( Blood disorders of yoni)
2.Ghrita ( Ghee) - for Shukravruddhi.
3. Ekshurasa ( sugarcane juice) - for Mutrakriccha ( difficulty in micturation).
๐ Amalaki churna with honey is used in Raktapradara ( abnormal uterine bleeding).
๐ RASAYANA KARMA -
- it works as rasadi saptadhatu shodhak and leads to excretion of dushta kaphadi dosha & also dushta mala. so the pathway for dhatuposhana gets clear and Saptadhatu gets nourished.
- this leads to Dhatuposhana so working as Rasayana & Vayasthapan.
