It is known as Daruhalad in Marathi , Daruhaldi in Hindi ,Daruharidra in Sanskrit & Indian barberry in English.

Latin Name - Berberis aristata

Family - Berbeiriaceae

Rasa - Tikta , Kashay

Virya - Ushna

Vipaka - Katu

Guna - Laghu , Ruksha

Chemical Constituents - Berberine

USES -

🌱It relives Garbhashay shaithilya ( weakness of uterine muscles) leading to relieving oedema & secretions so used in shwetpradara ( leucorrhoea) & Raktapradara ( Abnormal Uterine Bleeding).

🌱Kwatha of Daru-haridra is used for internal use and also in uttarbasti for healing the cervical erosions.

🌱It is used with milk & Sugar in pittaj pradara.

🌱Kwatha or rasanjan jala is used with Honey for stopping Dushtastrava (infected vaginal secretions).
