Now a days we also see that some people have habit of having
salted chips with tea. Many people love eating salted chips, pickles , sauces , chineese food
, papad on daily basis - all of them contain salt in
more amount. Also most of the people have habit of adding extra salt in their every meals.
But they never think of what happens in
the body after that.

As Per Ayurveda , Lavan rasa (Salty taste) is one of the six tastes. The salt should be used
in a very little amount in our daily diet.
Having salt in more amount in our daily diet in any form can
lead to –
- 👉 Increases heat in body.
- 👉Increases thirst.
- 👉Causes inflammation.
- 👉Decreases strength of teeth.
- 👉Causes wrinkles on skin.
- 👉 Early greying of hair.
- 👉Severe Loss of hairs & also can lead to baldness.
- 👉Can lead to fertility problems.
- 👉Increased Pitta in body leading to hyperacidity.
- 👉Disturbs blood circulation due to damage to blood vessels.
👉Hypertension.
Which is the ideal salt for daily use purpose – As per
Ayurveda ?
Saindhava Lavan ( Rock
Salt ) should be used for daily purpose.
Medicinal Properties –
- 👉Can be used for daily purpose.
- 👉Easy to digest.
- 👉Improves digestive fire.
- 👉Tastes salty but little sweet too.
- 👉Helps to keep tridosha ( vata , pitta & kapha) in balanced state.
- 👉Doesn’t increase heat in body.
- 👉Hrudya – gives strength of heart , heart muscles.
- 👉Improves blood circulation.
👉 Vrushya( Aphrodiasic) -improves shukra bala & count ( sperm strength & count) if used in proper amount but if used in more amount can lead to burning sensation in hands , feet.
What to avoid while using salt ?
👉 Avoid adding salt after cooking.
👉 Avoid having extra pinch of salt in every meals.
👉 Avoid using salt in excessive amounts.
