These are commonly known as Gokarna in Marathi , Aparajita in Hindi , Aparajita in Sanskrit ,Winged -leaved clitoria / Asian pigeonwings/ Butterfly pea / Bluebellvine in English & Clitoria kilo as Latin name.

CHIANA ROSE - USES IN GYNAECOLOGY

 It is one of commonly occuring flowering plants.

 It is known by its other names as Jaswand in Marathi, Gudhal in Hindi, Japa in Sanskrit ,Chiana rose/ chianese hibiscus/ rose mallow in English & Having Hibiscus rosa as its latin name.

 Family - Malvaceae

Properties -

Rasa - Kashaya, Madhur

Virya - Sheeta

USES -

1. Gulkand of its petals is used as kamottejaka ( Aphrodisiacs )

STRETCH MARKS IN PREGNANCY IN AYURVEDA

 As everyone knows stretch marks are the evidences of  stretching of skin too quickly. 

    The stretch marks seen in Pregnancy are known as Stria gravidarum in modern science & 

     In Ayurveda ," kikkisa".

     These Become cause for discomfort in many pregnant women , causing severe & continuous itching.

                                       


        As per another point of view , these cause worry to pregnant woman for their appearance .

       But with the help of  Ayurveda , you can prevent stretch marks upto some extent if you consult at right time or before their appearance.

      In Ayurveda , Aacharyas  have explained  their treatment with the use of following drugs as-

      1. chandan & kamalnal

      2. yashtimadhu churna with shirish twak , dhayati pushpa & yellow mustard.

      3. Neem & tulsi leaves with manjishtha preparation as kalka

( Medicines to be taken under guidance of an Ayurveda expert )

 Aacharya charaka has adviced to avoid itching over that area though it feels like that ,.as if you do so it will lead to its bad appearance on your skin.

Aacharya charaka has adviced specific diet in this condition as -

1. Madhur Rasa aahar ( sweet )

2. use salt in less amount 

3. use less oily food.

Now a days ,many ayurvedic drugs like Nimba oil, Karanj oil are used for this condition .

RADISH - USE IN GYNAECOLOGY

FENUGREEK SEEDS - USES IN OBSTETRICS

Fenugreek seeds are popular ingredients in cooking.

These are known as Methi dana in Marathi & Hindi , Methika in Sanskrit & Trigonella fenugraecum / Trigonella foenum as its Latin name.

2. As it does  aartavshudhi , it is used in sutika ( woman - after delivery ) for preventing Vataprakopa

CINNAMON - USES IN OBGY

Cinnamon is the one of the Indian spices.

USES -

1. As it is Garbhashaya sankochak , it can be used in -

    - Aanartava ( Amenorrhoea )

    - Alpartava ( Hypomenorrhoea / oligomenorrhoea)

    - Kashtartava ( Dysmenorrhoea)

    - Removes Garbhashaya Shaithilya 

 2. Due to madhur rasa , it leads to Shukra vrudhi ( increase in sperm count) .

 3. Due to Ushna & Tikshna guna , it stimulates kidneys causing Mutrajanana , so , it can be used in Mutrakriccha ( Difficulty in Mituration).

4.Due to Tikshna guna , it works as Jantughna so can be used in puymeha .

 Aloe vera is a well known Medicinal plant.

1. Aloe vera gel has Snigdha & picchal  guna with sheeta virya leading  to Shukravrudhi ( Increase in formation of sperms )

2. Due to Tikta rasa , it works as Vrushya (Aphrodisiac).

3. If there is menstrual irregularity due  to rasadi dhatu kshya , it can be used to improve menstrual irregularrities by increasing rasadi dhatu's.

4. Kala bol has Ushna guna so it works as Garbhashaya Sankochak (stimulates uterine muscles/walls causing uterine contractions),so during menstrual cycle it helps for easy flow of menstrual blood. 

note - so it is CONTRAINDICTED in Pregnant women.

5. It works as Aartavjanana ( Emmenagogue / increases or stimulates menstrual flow) so can be used 1 week before expected date of menses.

6. After Delivery , kala bol & pimpalmul churna is used for Garbhashaya shodhana.
