SHATAVARI - USES IN OBGY

Shatavari is grown all over  India & is well known for its use in Sutika .\

It is known as Shatavari in Marathi & Sanskrit & Satavar in Hindi .

Latin Name - Asparagus racemosus

Family - Liliaceae                                               

Properties -

Rasa - Madhur , Tikta

Virya - Sheeta

Vipaka - Madhur

Guna -  Guru , Snigdha , Mrudu

Chemical Constituents - Saponin , Sitesterol                                                

USES -

1) Stanyajanana -

👉Due to Snigdha guna leads to Bruhana of Rasadi dhatu & Due to Tikta rasa rasagnideepan karma occurs results in stanyaposhana ( as stanya is updhatu of  rasa)  & thus- Stanyajanana karma (stimulates or increases formation of breast milk).

so , Shatavari kalpa or Shatavari siddha milk is used for Stanyajanana karma.

2) Aartavvaha Strotas -

👉 Due to use of Shatavari , Garbhashya ( Uterus) gets nourishment & Uterine muscles & blood vesseles gets nourished.

👉As uterine blood vessels gets nourished & gets strength so used in raktapradara (abnormal uterine bleeding).

👉 It also works as Streebeejkara.

3) Shukravaha Strotas -

👉 Due to Shukra samanya , It works as Shukra Vruddhikara ( stimulates/ increases formation of Sperms).

 - Due to its use , the dhatus required for shukra  formation & shukra ( sperms) gets nourished leading to gain in Body strength of the person.

👉 Shatavari kalka siddha ghee is used with sugar + pippali + honey as Vajikarana yoga (Aphrodiasic).

    आजकाल सर्वानाच माहिती आहे कि COVID-19 रुग्णाने / संशयिताने Isolation करावे , पण Isolation करावे म्हणजे नक्की काय ? सर्वाना फक्त एवढी माहिती आहे कि रूग्ण / संशयिताला वेगळ्या खोलीत ठेवावे.पण त्यादरम्यान नक्की काय काय काळजी घ्यावी ? कारण जर योग्य काळजी घेतली नाही तर त्या Isolation चा मूळ हेतू म्हणजे रूग्ण / संशयित यांपासून इतरांना होणारा प्रसार रोखणे हा साध्य होऊ शकत नाही. त्यामुळेच ..

                                                

    

Isolation कोणी कोणी करावे ?

👉जे लोक COVID -19 चे रुग्ण आहेत.

👉 जे लोक COVID -19 च्या रुग्णाच्या संपर्कात आले आहेत.

👉ज्यांच्या घरी  COVID -19 चे रुग्ण आढळून आले आहेत.

👉 ज्या लोकांना  COVID -१९ च्या लक्षणांपैकी कोणतीही लक्षणे आढळून आली आहेत.( सर्दी , खोकला, ताप येणे ) अशी लक्षणे दिसून आली असता ज्या व्यक्तीला ही लक्षणांपैकी कोणतेही लक्षण असेल त्याने लगेचच Isolation करावे.(संशयित रुग्ण).

👉जे संशयित रुग्णांच्या संपर्कात आले आहेत त्यांनी सुद्धा Isolation केले तर पुढील संभाव्य धोके टाळता येऊ शकतात.

Isolation कसे करावे आणि काय काय काळजी घ्यावी ?

👉 रुग्णास / संशयितास स्वतंत्र खोली असावी.

👉 Isolation मध्ये असणाऱ्या व्यक्तीला जेवायला देताना शक्यतो कागदी प्लेट्स व ग्लास असे वापरावेत.

👉 जर ते शक्य नसेल तर रुग्णाचे / संशयिताचे वापरलेले भांडी वेगळी ठेवावीत.

👉 रुग्णास / संशयितास वापरावयास स्वतंत्र बाथरूम & टॉयलेट असावे . ते शक्यच नसेल तर रुग्णाने वापरल्यानंतर  dettol / sodium Hypochloride ने तिथे फवारा मारूनच ते वॉशरूम वापरावे.

👉 रुग्णाचे / संशयिताचे कपडे देखील वेगळीकडे ठेवावेत.

👉 रुग्णास अन्न, पाणी वैगेरे गरजेच्या वस्तू चा पुरवठा करायचा असेल तर ते सर्व सामान Isolation खोलीच्या बाहेर च ठेवून द्यावे. त्या खोलीतून कुठलीही वस्तू बाहेर आणू नये. फारच गरजेची वस्तू असेल तर ती sanitize स्प्रे करूनच घ्यावे.

👉 घरात Isolated रूग्ण / संशयित असतील तर घरात वावरताना सर्वानी मास्क चा वापर करावा.

👉 घरात Isolated रूग्ण / संशयित असतील तर घरातील सर्वानी विशेष काळजी घ्यावी व सतत साबण / हँडवॉश ने हात धुवावे.

Isolation किती दिवस करावे ? 

👉रूग्ण / संशयिताने कमीत कमी १४ दिवस विलगीकरणात राहावे .

👉 संशयिताने १४ दिवस विलगीकरण पाळण्याचे कारण कि जर काही दिवसानंतर संशयित हा Covid ने पॉजिटीव्ह आला ( कधी कधी सुरुवातीला रिपोर्ट नेगेटिव्ह येतो आणि काही दिवसानंतर तोच व्यक्ती पॉजिटीव्ह होता हे कळते.)तर  अश्या वेळी संभाव्य धोके टाळता येऊ शकतात.

USES -

 1.Pranvaha strotas -

 Due to Tikta kashaya rasa & Ushna guna - it works as -

👉 Kaphaghna  ( removes phlegm) 

👉 Shwashara (anti -asthamatics) 

As in covid 19 , we see symptoms like - fever, cough, cold, breathlessness so kaphaghna property of ashwagandha helps to removes phlegm and shwashara property helps in curing breathlessness.

2.Rasayan Karma - 

👉 works as Balya ( gives strength to body) , Bruhana & Rasayan .

👉 Due to tikta rasa - it works as Dhatvagideepan 

 So, Dhatuagnideepan & Dhatuposhana both achieved .

In covid 19 , as everyone wants to boost Immunity , as ashwagandha does dhatuaagnideepan and also dhatuposhana leading to give strength to body (working as balya) leading to increased Immunity.

Aacharya Charaka  explains Bala  responsible for " Vyadhikshamatva." ( Immunity).

a) Aacharya Charaka explains 3 types of Bala  -

1. SAHAJ BALA -

 

It is the Bala of a person that is present from birth.

It is the Natural Immunity & that is maintained by Ig G.

2. KALAJ BALA -

It is the Bala that is depended on age , season , Nutritional status of that time.

It is maintained by Ig A & Ig M .

3. YUKTIKRUTA BALA -

It is the Bala that is gained by using diet ( like protein diet ) / vihara ( like by doing gym) / medications.

It is the artificially induced Immunity.

                                        

 b) Aacharya Sushruta described oja under Bala .

👉  Oja is the essence of sapta dhatu's.

👉 oja is responsible for strength/ power/ energy  of body.

कोरोना काळात कोमट पाणी पिण्यास का सांगितले जातंय ?

एवढा ताप आलाय आणि डॉक्टर कोमट पाणी प्यायला सांगताय ? असे कसे ? 

ताप असताना अजून कोमट पाणी कशाला ? 

 कोरोना रुग्णांमध्ये  मध्ये कोमट पाणी प्यायला डॉक्टर सांगतात तसेच कोरोनापासून बचावासाठी पण..? असे प्रश्न तर तुम्हाला पण पडत असतील .तर असे का ?                        

                                         

        तर कोरोना हा आयुर्वेदानुसार वात -कफज ज्वर आहे. आणि आयुर्वेदानुसार पित्तज ज्वर वगळता इतर ज्वरामध्ये उष्णोदक ( कोमट पाणी) द्यावे असे आचार्य चरक यांनी वर्णन केले आहे.

👉 उष्णोदक म्हणजे काय ?

उष्ण = गरम 

उदक = पाणी 

उष्णोदक म्हणजे गरम पाणी.

 👉पिण्यासाठी उष्णोदक कसे बनवावे  ?

पिण्यासाठी उष्णोदक ( कोमट पाणी ) बनवत असताना ते पाणी तापायला ठेवल्यानंतर त्या भांड्यावर न झाकता गरम होऊ द्यावे आणि नंतर ते आपोआप कोमट होऊ द्यावे व असे कोमट पाणी पिण्यासाठी योग्य आहे.

ते पाणी फ्रिज मध्ये ठवून गार करू नये.

👉  उष्णोदक सेवनाचे फायदे -

      १. ज्वराची उत्पत्ती आमाशयातून होते.आणि आमाशयोत्थ व्याधींमध्ये पचन देणे अपेक्षित असते म्हणूनच   -                  उष्णोदक वापरले असता पाचन कर्म घडून येते.

     २. उष्णोदकामुळे वाताचेही अनुलोमन होते.

     ३. उदरस्थित अग्नी प्रदीप्त होतो.

     ४.आहार सुखाने पचतो.

     ५. कफ कमी होतो.

     ६. थोड्या प्रमाणात उष्णोदक देऊनही तृष्णा ( तहान) शमन होते.

LIQUORICE - USES IN GYNAECOLOGY

Liquorice is very well known sweet ayurvedic remedy , here you can get to know about its uses in gynaecology.

 6. It  is used in Shwetpradara ( leucorrhoea) with rice water.

BAKUL - USES IN GYNAECOLOGY

It is one of the Evergreen tree with beautiful yellowish white flowers having pleasant smell.

It is known as Bakul in Marathi , Hindi & Sanskrit & having Spanish cherry as its English name.

3. It works as Shukrastambhan so used in shukrameha (spermatorrhoea).

YAVANI 

Latin Name - Trachyspermum ammani

Family - Umbelliferae

Properties - same as ajwain

Chemical Constituents -

Ajowan oil , Carvacrol

USES -

1. Shukranashak due to Tikshna guna.

2.Garbhashayottejak due to ushna & tikshna guna so used in Kashatrtava ( dysmenorrhoea) & Sutikaroga ( diseases in postpartum state)

3.GarbhashayShodhan ( Cleansing action of uterus) so used in sutika.

4.works as Vatanulomak ,so it is used in makkalshoola.

1. Due to Tikta rasa , it leads to Agnideepan & due to madhur rasa & Snigdha guna - it leads to bruhan karma. so acts as Mansa & Shukra Dhatu vardhak.

2. Vajikarana ( Aphrodisiac)

 Due to madhur rasa & vipaka  -- > Shukra Nirmiti ( Formation of  sperms)

 Due to Ushna Virya - Shukra pravartan at proper time.

so it is used for Vajikarana karma ( Aphrodisiac)

3. Shukra virechak 

As Ashwagandha works as Sadya shukrakara ,  Ashwagandha churna is used with ghruta & milk for Shukravirechan karma.

 4. Yonishoolhara ( relives pain in vagina)

Due to Madhur vipaka , Ushna virya & Vatashamana --> Yonishoolhara.

5. Shwetapradar (Leucorrhoea) & Vataj Yoniroga

Ashwagandha siddha milk and sugar are used.

6. Stanyajanana ( Stimulates / increases formation of breast milk)

  kwatha of ashwagandha  with bhuikohala & yashtimadhu is used with cow milk.

7.Used in Shukra kshaya (less quantity of sperms)

8. Shukra daurbalya

9. Pradar ( abnormal vaginal discharge)

10.Garbhashaya Shamak ( Uterine sedativre / anti spasmodic)

11.Nidranasha (Insomnia)
